MALTA, N.Y. (WNYT) – Investigators said a Latham man working for the town of Malta while also working remotely for the state.
Mehul A. Goswani, 39, was working remotely for the New York State Office of Information Technology Services at the same time as his town job. This resulted in him stealing more than $50,000, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office said.
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation between the Sheriff’s Office and the new York State Inspector General’s Office.
Goswami was charged with second-degree grand larceny. He was arraigned in Malta Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
