Ten Years Later: Inside the 2015 Clinton Prison Escape

Special Event Hosted by New York State Inspector General Lucy Lang

Albany, NY – Join the Offices of the New York State Inspector General for a panel discussion marking the 10th anniversary of the infamous 2015 escape by two convicted murderers from Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, NY – one of the most dramatic prison breaks in modern U.S. history.

This special event, Ten Years Later: Inside the 2015 Clinton Prison Escape, will be moderated by Inspector General Lucy Lang and feature Former New York State Police Superintendent Joseph D’Amico, Former New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Commissioner Anthony Annucci, and Newsday New York State Correspondent Keshia Clukey, with opening remarks by Former Inspector General Catherine Leahy-Scott. This distinguished group, being brought together for the first time since the escape, will provide an intimate look at the terrifying three-week manhunt, the far-reaching investigation, and the lasting impact of the incident on prison administration and oversight.

The New York State Inspector General’s comprehensive 150-page report, which was praised for its unflinching detail and credited with spurring critical prison reforms, provided a roadmap for Showtime’s acclaimed miniseries Escape at Dannemora. Come hear from the leaders who were on the ground during thousands of hours of investigative work, including forensic examinations of the cells and escape route used by the escapees and the sworn interviews of more than 175 people, including the surviving escapee and his prison staff accomplice.
