Beware of scammers pretending to act on behalf of a public agency! The New York State Inspector General’s Office never promises the delivery of funds nor would we request money. Please report any suspicious calls or emails to our office at 1-800-DO-RIGHT as well as your local law enforcement agency.
If you are the victim of an online or internet-enabled crime, file a report with the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) as soon as possible. These reports are used for investigative and intelligence purposes. You can also report fraud and scams to the FTC at https://reportfraud.ftc.gov
